Song Of Innocence-My Christmas Story
It
was hot noon as I brushed my hair to settle it down. I carried three bags of
sweets one for each pack of cousins.Christams in Hyderabad, as I noticed , was
not like they show in western movies. No roads were covered with snow, few
shops had Christmas decors and very few had Santa jingling the customers with
X-mas showers.
I
sighed as my car pulled its way to my aunt’s house. Big malls were decorated
with Santa’s best smiling posters. All had glittering lights and shiny
stickers. I watched friends exchange greetings in spite of their religion.
My
car halted for red light. I saw a little girl smiling, holding a red heart
shaped balloon; seated with her father (I think so) on his bike. Christmas sure
brings cheers, no matter what their age, I thought.
We
stopped at Tipsy Topsy, a well know bakery at Dilsknagar to buy cakes. I noticed
a man dressed in red, closely resembled Santa, although he didn’t have white
beard nor wore a hat. My father had a light chat with him and we came to know a
little about him.
For,
Mr.Pulliah, a worker at Tipsy Topsy, the day of Christmas begins at around 3 AM
in morning, while most of us are tugged to sleep in our beds; this man travels
about ten kilometres from home to earn his bread. From past few weeks, his job
consists of carrying cakes in car and spread the Christmas marries.
In
spite of his sick mother at home, he had to smile, to satisfy the customers.
His tanned complexion, skinny structure and strong telanga accent, didn’t
resemble the Santa of the The Times magazines, however, he still smiles and show a happy face for his customers.
As
I picked my chocolate cake, I watched him upload cartons of cake and pull the key.
May be it doesn’t take Reindeers or Santa’s goodie bag to spread Christmas, as
long as you are there to spread happiness to everyone. This Christmas was
different for me. I learnt a few, but somehow important message from God.
We
pulled our car out, and I saw him wipe his sweat, as he packed some more cakes.
It’s when I felt, to write this post, my way of saying ,to all those people, a
great thanks for delivering happiness at our door steps, It can me Dominos’s pizza boys to road side shops’ chia
wallas.

♥ You Are My Pet ♥
When my
dad held my hand and said, you are going to lead a life with boxes, I thought
he was kidding. I mean why would I lead such life? After a week we were shifted
to my granny house and all our stuff were packed in cartons. Now if I want to
pull something out, I need to first figure out in which carton that stuff went
into.
That’s when
I wondered how life would be if you live just in a carton. During my deep
childhood days, me along with my siblings used to play thinking a carton is our
only home. But, in reality I do not think a person can live in carton. Well,
not until I met with Takeshi Gouda.
Takeshi
Gouda was found in a box by Sumire Iwaya-a journalist who leads a life like a
time table. The manga KIWI WA PETTO deals with Iwaya-cha taking Takeshi –kun into
the house and nurse him. She finds him to resemble her dog Momo, and thus she wants
him to be her dog, having no choice Gouda accepts the proposal.
The plot
thus starts with how Momo-kun and Iwaya-cha become friends and share a strong bond
of a Master-Pet relationship. This manga was another shoujo I enjoyed reading.
It was purely comedy and the Japanese drama, following same name, was equally interesting.
Koyuki-cha
played the bossy, business type girl who knows everything in world apart from
how to live.Matsumoto Jnu plays “Momo”, the human-pet dog, whose acting skills
were good as always like his other dramas. The twist in the plot
however was that, Momo was an upcoming famous ballet dancer, who was rejected initially
coz of his height.
The Japanese
drama was sweet, as they share pretty kawaii moments. I thought of this drama a
lot, coz Momo portrayed a silly boy with ambitions. He comes from a very rich
background and enjoys Iwaya-cha’s company. Iwaya-cha, a middle class girl, who
fears from showing her true self to Hasumi Shigehito, her childhood crush, was always comfortable with Momo.
The only
Hangul actor that I could think off who can dance, sing and act the role of Momo was Jang Keun
Suk \(♥o♥)/ .
Oh well, I feel he could pull off the
right parts in right time. I really can’t wait to watch the Korean version of
the same. It was scheduled to be released on November 1, 2011.So far I read
mixed mood reviews. I found him to be nomu gwiyeou from the promos. The OST was
pretty fun to watch. Kim Ha Neul plays the lead actress.
Now, when I see a pet on road, a wide curve spreads across my face,
may be because I think that, that pet has its own story, or rather each person
has a story to tell. May be some day I will my own have my pet and it will be named as
Momo. For those who often find me giggling silently to my self think
I am in love, but yes, I do! Watashi wa petto daisukidesu(I love my pet)!!!

The Snow Queen
I
sat along the warm wooden board and watched some kids play in the sand.
Saturday mornings are usually lull, where we got nothing to do. As I dry my
hair from morning shower, I sneer at the kids on the road dressed in white and
lined to go to school.
White
color reminded me of the famous song sung by most of the Indian youth –“Gilru skinu whitu whitu”,but for a
dreamy girl ,it reminded me more of a lonely Queen who lived in Lapland, in
south pole, who was beautiful, yet lives alone covered with falling snow ,waiting
to meet some one.
Whom
does she want to meet to conquer her loneliness? Its kay, a little boy who
loves Gerda, his childhood friend, but stays at the Snow Queen’s place .This
fairy tale was written by Hans Christian. It ends with Gerda
taking Kay away and they live happily. As always, a happy ending for the heroes of
the story and villains or vamps perish in the dust.
Not
my hero though! The story –The Snow Queen starts with Han Tae-Woong (Hyun Bin oppa), a math genius, meets this girl,
Kim Bora (Sing Yu Ri unnie) ,when she
was bulled at school. Of course she wants to go to Lapland to meet the Snow Queen,
but Tae woong convinces her and sends her back home.
The story takes a twist when Tae Woong meets Jeong Kyu, another
math genius and they become best buddies. The time span they spend is very
less, but I find my self watching that part of the K-Drama again and again. I
found it’s too lovely to see their deep friendship-like listening to same music
bits, solving math and watching dash together. All happy? Well, the U-bend
comes when Jeong Kyu comes second and Tae Woong first in the Olympiad test (if
I remember correctly) and due to his dad’s reassure and I-cannot-Be-Defeated
attitude Jeong Kyu ends his life.
The drama moves slowly than the Indian carts from here.
Through out the drama we find Tae Woong blaming himself for his friend’s death.
What kept me glued to this drama till the end, was for the fact that Hyun Bin
being one of my favorite actors, and he doesn’t disappoint you with his acting
skills. Though it’s a sad drama, little tit-bit stuff he does, keeps you in
tact with the story. He is neomu neomu gwiyeo(cute) in many scenes. Especially in start
of the drama, where we find him to fall off the cliff, of course it doesn’t
happen in the same way.
The little girl he ones he met, grows out to be a monster, with
arrogant attitude, but who suffers from a chronic disease . Although I feel bad
for Gun Woo, Bora’s doctor and love triangle, Tae
Woong soon learns that, Bora is his best friend’s sister, the girl Kyu promises
to introduce once his life is settled. Though it’s sad to see her dead at end
of the series and Tae Woong doesn’t marry another girl but continues his
research in math.
This drama has lovey dovey between Tae woong and Bora.I liked
the choreography and the OST, especially-Say
hello, I need friend, maybe coz it plays
at creezy moments or teary times. The time Bora spends at
Seung-ri house and all the fun stuff they do together was good too.
Eun
Hee’s screen play is always the best, as she did with other dramas. Jun Yun’s
performance as Young Kim Bora is cool; I mean extra pink, extra girly and extra
cute. Even today this drama reminds one of the best I watched, slow and good,
perhaps it’s because of Hyun Bin ageyo or because Yu Ri’s beauty, the slow plot, I do
not know. This drama, to me, was like a warm breezed in winter meadows. The
Snow Queen, as a drama or a fairy tale, still has a little place in my heart.
As I
keep my now empty tea cup on the wooden plank, I go back to my PC, browsing
Hyun Bin oppa’s pictures and thus rewind my thoughts about this Korean drama.

A New Start
A
lot has happened between my last post and this one. Well, those who do not
know, it took me time to adjust to new life. From where shall I start? Probably
the beginning would be the best step.
It
all started when we moved to my grannies house. Here, unlike my house, people
sleep at eight; life is slow, less huddles and more peace. Do I love it? I do
not know yet. I wake up at five and sleep by eight. Too early for my schedule -earlier
I used to sleep by 3 in morning and wake up by 6.Yes, I used to sleep less, but
somehow I was more energetic and my thoughts were only to watch Joe Cheng smile
at camera or notice Leetuk dimple during WGM.
But,
now the life here is different. As I type my thoughts, I do not wonder when
this damn “You are my pet” will release, but to cut what vegetables for my granny.
The last movie which I desperately awaited was “Tangled”. Why am I putting
random thoughts in this post, I don’t know. All I know is this-writing my thoughts
are the best way to pass time. Of course I do not have net support right now.
Every
tunnel has a light in the end, at least that’s how people face life. But I do
it with a smile. There’s a lot going in my life right now. All I say to myself-CK
adjust. Because at end of day I can still see Joe Cheng smile. Some way he makes
my day. May be I am drama buff. But, that’s how I live and survive.
I
didn’t face much difficulty in life, maybe since I have extra supporting family.
But not every one is as lucky as me. When did I realize that? When one of my
students got struck in front of whole college? Of course, my instant reaction
should be-It’s not my cup of tea, or when my colleagues discussed about their
pre and post wedding problems. But ,when its time to get off my bus, I only
think my thin fingers gripping the keys of the bike awaited to take me home-in
the least liked way. Of course I just say-adjust CK.
I
no more screech at the Manga characters or hug pillow when Joe Cheng supports his
wife with dishes, in case it’s not clear it’s a new Taiwanese drama I am
watching-“It Started with a Kiss”. Slurping the warm food and hitting the bed
by eight, I lay on my bed humming to Korean songs and talking the Telugu mixed Korean
language to irritate by brother.
Only
way to keep my energy boost up is to watch dramas. Have I met any good ones lately?
Well, if you want to cry-“Wonderful life” is a must watch Korean drama. I am
right now watching its equivalent Taiwanese drama called-Fated to love you.
Both have the same base plot.
Highly
recommended one with shoujo and laughter is-It started with a kiss, I read its Manga,
watched its anime and Korean version of the same. But, I still enjoyed its Taiwanese
version, reason? The actors are so good! Joe and Aerial Lin make a good pair I think.
It’s as if I am watching the anime all over again.Kim Hyung Joong isn’t much of an actor,
when I compare it to the Taiwanese version. I liked the ending, although the
least enjoyed part was, when it was made into a Telugu movie called-“100% Love”.
I fear the drama/Manga –“my sixteen year sister in law” concept is actually the movie Imran Khan’s “Mere Brother ki Dulhan” ,though comedy I do not want Korean or Japanese plot to be laid with Indian cast, may be I still cant imagine Nag Chaitanya's face to that of KHJ or Joe Cheng !
